    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, Sea2Soil runs cleanly through drip and micro-irrigation lines. Flush the line with clean water after each fertigation run to prevent bio-film accumulation inside drip emitters.

Yes, Sea2Soil is compatible with most organic inputs, compost teas, and bio-stimulants. Always conduct a standard jar test before large-scale tank mixing, and avoid combining with high-pH alkaline chemicals.

By optimizing soil biological function, Sea2Soil unlocks bound nutrients in the soil matrix. Trial data indicates growers can safely reduce synthetic nitrogen inputs by 15–25% without sacrificing yield potential.

Fish emulsion uses high-heat processing that strips valuable proteins and oils. Sea2Soil utilizes a cold enzymatic hydrolysis process that preserves whole fish proteins, amino acids, enzymes, and natural lipids vital for soil microfauna.

By feeding native mycorrhizal fungi and beneficial soil microorganisms, Sea2Soil accelerates biological humification. Over consecutive seasons, increased biological activity locks stable carbon into the soil profile.

Unlike synthetic NPK inputs which bypass soil biology, Sea2Soil is a cold-processed liquid fish hydrolysate rich in proteins, amino acids, and trace elements. It directly feeds soil fungi and beneficial bacteria, restoring degraded soil food webs.

Protect containers from hard, prolonged freezes. If the product freezes, allow it to thaw naturally at ambient temperature and agitate or recirculate before use to ensure full re-homogenization.

Sea2Soil improves sward density, enhances root depth, and reduces reliance on synthetic liquid feeds that cause soft, disease-prone growth flushes on turfgrass.

Sea2Soil stimulates early root elongation and secondary fine lateral branching. A denser root network allows the crop to scavenge soil phosphorus and moisture far more efficiently during tuber initiation.

Over 100 Years in the making

    The story behind the success

Pelagia has 28 operating facilities across Norway, Europe and the United Kingdom, processing over 1 million tonnes of fish and fish by-products per annum. Pelagia is committed to zero waste from this industry, which is where Sea2Soil comes in. In fact, it’s a key part of this strategy.

In 2019, our processing facility in Bressay, on the Shetland Isle, expanded it operations and obtained a license to utilise unused fish by-products to create a highly nutritious soil improver.
